Today I present DIY for apron. I started to think about recipe with apple in main role and suddenly I realised that I didn’t have the apron.
How can I cook without an aprons?! It’s inpossible, isn’t it? Well,Ok, it is possible, but what a cooking is this? So apron is the absolute must have! So let’s Do It Yourself! Let’s make your own apron! Instruction below.
Supplies you’ll need:
- Cotton canva in grey colour with white Polka dots of dimensions: 29x63 inches
- Cotton canva in white colour of dimensions: 7.5x8.5 inches
- Sewing toread in white colour
- Scissors or rotary cutter
- Mat
- Measuring tape
- Sewing machine
- Tracing papier
- Textil marker (for drawing pattern)
- Pins
Step 1:
First prepare pattern. 4 parts of pattern is attached (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4). Download 4 parts of patternd, print it and connect them according to instruction (instruction). Then draw pattern on tracing paper and cut it off like so:

Take your canva (grey with white Polka dots) and using rotary cutter an mat trim strip of dimensions: 5x63 inches (it will be the strap for apron).
Pin the pattern using pins (see photo).
Draw the pattern on canva with textile marker. Then using rotary cutter trim an apron. Remember to leave 1.0 inch for hem (see photo).
Now it’s time for pocket. Fold white canva in half. Place pocket’s pattern on canva, draw it and trim leaving 1.0 inch for hem.

Step 3:
Take apron. Now tuck 0.5 inch of raw edge down into the hem. Repete with all apron’s edges (see photo).
Step 4:
Now we need strap on neck strap to time at the waist. Takie a strip of grey canva of dimensions 5x63 inches. Fold strap like so:

Once the strap is sewn cut off a piece of about 22 inches (best individually adjust the lenght). This is strap on neck. Place strap on right place and pin it (see photo). Now sew it to apron using straight stitch.

Now it’s time for pocket. Takie your pocket and tuck 0,3 inch of raw edge down into the hem. Now sew it using a straight stitch.
Place pocket on apron and pin it. Now sew it using desired stitch (I chose decotative one).
And yes it is finished. Of course you can choose your own colour and motif for your apron. For me it had to be in Polka dots an with my logo too!
